Skype Call 11th of September
Hey everyone!
So on friday just gone, we had our first call back for the new term.
I am going into module 2 for the 3rd time! A lot has happened this past year and i haven't been mentally ready to really give this module ago until now. Since losing my job due to covid-19, i have had a lot of time to think and reflect and i have decided i really want to get this degree done. I have learnt alot about myself these last few months and i have learnt how to reflect and learn.
I wasn't much of a reader before lockdown and now i can actually read a whole book and enjoy it.
Going into this module this time round, feels right and i feel a lot more confident in myself and my learning.
What we discussed on the call was different ways to organise yourself for the term. Many said definitely set aside an hour or 2 a day to go over blogs, read text books, research your different ideas etc.
Many said to write a schedule and do your best to stick with it. Do not leave everything last minute. Also don't be afraid to ask questions and ask your fellow peers for help and advice.
I have started to read " Researching Dance" by Sondra Fraleigh. I would recommend it so far. What i've learnt is there is many different ideas of people definition of dance.
Also i have created a schedule for when i will be doing doing my Uni work.
So i've set time aside every morning for an hour and a half, Monday-Friday.
This is best for me i've realised, as i am most alert and open to learn in the mornings. Also doing a little constantly works better for me, than doing fewer days but more hours.
So i am excited to see how this term works out for me and now being more open minded to learn how to learn.
until next time
CG xoxo
