Finding the Perfect Balance
Today is the 19th of February 2019 and it is currently the 3rd week of term for my BAPP course. It is also my 5th week being on tour and today is my first day where I have had the time and space to really get stuck into my course work, rather then going over/learning show material.
Being a swing is a great responsibility and this being my first professional job I want to make sure I am doing my best. However being so focused on work, I haven't really had the time or brain power to really give my full attention on my BAPP course. I have had to miss a few Skype calls due to changing time rehearsal schedules to do with the show. I am struggling to find the PERFECT balance between the both.
I have planned time aside for my course work, however as we know in show business plans change all the time and you just have to be willing to go with those changing plans/schedules.
I am currently trying my best to figure out and plan what will work for me professionally, personally and my course work. I hate the feeling of failure and I don't want to disappoint anyone in area of my life.
I think I underestimated how tiring touring life is and I thought I would be able to do it all!
I think in the next few weeks I am just going try to stick with my weekly plan as best as I can and then evaluate myself on where i'm at then and see if this is the right time for me to being doing a course like this right now.
On the flip side I have started researching different established artists and scholars who are important to me.I just need to do more reading and start questioning there ethics and start articulating my intake on this.
Until next time kids...
