Bad Idea Blog

Since finishing module one in early December, I have been extremely busy in rehearsals with Avenue Q.
It has been an absolute world win and my exceptions have exceeded more than I thought it would. I have learnt so much already on what type of performer I am in the work room and I have already started to reflect on my method of process.

What I have noticed within myself is that I am a lot stronger on picking up direction then I thought. My brain retains a lot of instructions quickly and I am confident I can apply changes quickly when needed too. I've learnt that I have a lot more knowledge within my practice then I thought. for example; by recording my harmony lines via my phone and going over them in the evening with the original backing track, I learnt that is the quickest and easiest way for me to learn my notes. Also being in a musical where it requires me to learn a new skill, which is puppetry, I've realised my skills in picking up dance choreography and training in massive group dance numbers, I find being precise on what the puppets are meant to be doing, comes more naturally to me.

Since starting the BAPP course I am defiantly more reflective on myself and situations around me. I am more visual on what is happening and how I react to certain situations and what I can do to always improve on my performance within my practice.

I have started to read the module two handbook and making notes. I am looking forward to properly get started on this subject matter and see what else I can enhance my knowledge on.

until next time...

CG xoxo
